Jnr: Junior was our only baby budgie that hatched from our budgies first batch of eggs (4 in total) i have included pics for each stage from day 1 uptil day 30 which is today. Day 30: He was having an absolute blast on the play centre he loves to show off is this typical of a bird of this age and when should we bring him inside his eating food from my hand, When should i bring him inside because his going to be an inside bird and companion for jasper. The Parents: Male - White Female - Blue Day 1 he hatched Day 5:his going strong. Day 8: Day 13: Look at the big boy. Day 17: Feathers start showing. Day 22: His so big and strong Day 28: Day 29:On day 29 i found him out of his nest and in the corner of the aviary i left him there till the last afternoon then put him back in his nesting box full of wood shavings. December 8, 200915 yr Author we went and got another 3 budgies today one boy *blue / black english budgerigar* and 2 other female babies from this season do you think two boys and 4 females will be okay in my aviary its reasonably big for an outdoor aviary and the two boys seem to be getting along okay we have two nesting boxes one in each corner. we removed junior from the aviary so the new male doesnt hurt him.

Do NOT put any budgies in an aviary with nesting boxes if they are under 12 months of age....they will try and breed. Either remove the nesting boxes or house the underaged ones somewhere else. December 8, 200915 yr Author okay well i dont know nothing about budgies but the guy said that breeding season was over for budgies and they would be fine.
December 9, 200915 yr okay well i dont know nothing about budgies but the guy said that breeding season was over for budgies and they would be fine. Your guy doesnt know what he is talking about. Budgies will breed any time of year and are most often prompted to breed by good food and the presence of nesting boxes. Do not listen to the advice of your "guy" PS if so called "breeding season" is over how come all my budgies are still breeding ?? You can choose not to listen, but soon enough you will be on here again talking about the disasters happening in your aviary due to underaged birds trying to breed, fights over nestboxes, bloodied birds from fights, broken and smashed eggs and further down the track killed or maimed chicks. December 9, 200915 yr Author i wasnt saying you was wrong i was saying i didnt know thanks for the advice there only lil budgies so ill just remove our nesting boxes and wait till i build kelly her 5 meter aviary hehe. By The Way junior is doing wonderful ill upload another photo of him later on lil devil finds it fun to roll in her seed bowl lol.
December 9, 200915 yr My previous pet budgie (female) used to take "baths" in her seeds - like wild birds having a dust bath I guess- it was really cute & i imagine it felt really nice for her, but she would make SUCH a mess, i had to buy her a seed container with a much smaller opening!
December 11, 200915 yr Junior is a cute little GIRL and she is an opaline grey spangle. Edited December 11, 200915 yr by KAZ
