New Budgie

Got a new budgie today! I got a friend to pick her up, so I haven't seen her in person yet. She's a beautiful Mauve Opaline, but I need opinions on her age, I'm not very good at telling that..

I'm guessing she's about somewhere from 6-8 months old?

Since Liv is right here next to me AND we both agree with each other......

WE say its around 5 months old. :(

I have concerns about the wool or string on this toy. Hanging material for birds.

Okay thank you. I'm trying to learn to be able to tell their age..so why do you guys say she is 5 months?

Apparently that toy has wire, not string, is that still a problem?

Combination of markings on head, cere colour and condition, and iris rings.

The toy I would say is a problem............if you have ever seen a budgie hung on toy you will know what I mean by it being a problem.

Alright. It's not my birds' toy but the person's house she was at before I picked her up..I'll mention it to them, thanks for the warning.

Okay, so what colour does she look like by the way? I'm thinking a SF or maybe even DF (considering how my Sf Violet Mauve looks, and this girl looks more purple than her) Violet Mauve Opaline?

I'm going to call her Lakia (lak-eye-ya). The name just popped into my head a couple days ago, and I looked it up..means 'born on Thursday' in Indian apparently.

So does anyone know what her colour is, is she a normal Mauve or does she have some violet in her or what?

You'll have to wait for the experts to come on line, I haven't bred any mauves yet and don't know what they look like. :)
