Posted December 5, 200915 yr HI guys. I have had 3 pairs in cages for a long time now, about 3 weeks. All of the birds are not showing interest. Cage 1: The cock was nesting a bit, but hen uninterested. She has one clutch, about 3 months ago but she has been put in with a different cock this time. Would it be possible that becuase I don't have her with her previous cock that she was bonded to, that she won't breed unless with him? Cock- Unused Hen- 1 clutch - Black Band Cage 2: Hen and cock are both uninterested in box. The cock is still reasonably young, about 16 months. He was bonded to another hen in the avairy, but she got away so I put him with another hen. Cock- Unused Hen- Unused - Green Band ( I think) Cage 3: Both birds showing no interest in nest. The hen was used about 3 months ago in a different style cage then the one's I own. She was paired to another cock. ( I got her from the breeder when she finished) She is now in a cage that was the previous style that the breeder had her in, but showing no interest. She is perfectly comfortable being in the box, like when I put in new seed/water. Cock- Unused Hen- 1 clutch. I was wondering if anyone has any idea why these birds are not breeding? Hens are all in condition, and the cocks are all healthy. They are fed soft food, seed, veggies and fresh seeding grass'. Does anyone have any tips to get these birds enthusiastic? Cheers Squeak
December 5, 200915 yr Author Sorry Kaz, it's just this time all my hens are in condition and I have moved my birds inside now. I was hoping for some more opinions. Just thought I would add Condition and Climate: The birds are kept inside now. They are kept in my spare room, with a window open during the day and if its warm/hot air con. or heater is on in another room. All hens are in condition or at least were but I think the YF Hen's cere is starting to darken. Edited December 5, 200915 yr by Squeak_Crumble
