Posted November 23, 200915 yr Remember my new bird I got from the selling auction at our last club meeting well here she is, She is only 6months old Isn't she pretty
November 23, 200915 yr Author Well to start with Jimmy I just wanted to breed dilutes but I have been told I would be better to breed grey wings or clear wings and that is why I got that clear wing at the auction but he is no good.
November 23, 200915 yr Nice Opaline Dilute you got there. Looks like a Grey in the phots. Why would any one tell you that you would be better off to breed Greywing or Clearwings? Personally I would have thought you breed what you want and stuff what anybody thinks. If you decide not to breed with her you can always send her to me.
November 23, 200915 yr She's rather beautiful Splat. Clearwings are in the too hard basket for me, besides the fact they always look like petshop birds. Go for the dilute breeding mate
November 23, 200915 yr Author That's what I reckon Kaz but I will give her a round when she is old enough to a clear wing that Geoff is going to loan me. RIP i have 4 men in my club that want her but no she is mine and I am keeping her even if just to look at.
November 24, 200915 yr can i ask what your doing with the dilutes once you breed them what are you going to use them for ???? im going touse dilutes instead of cinnamon in my albinos

You do realise that any Clearwing cocks you produce will be split for Opaline.
November 24, 200915 yr What a pretty looking bird. I've never seen a grey dilute before - really attractive!!!

I was also wondering why you wouldn't want to breed dilutes. I thought maybe because they might be in a difficult show class, or maybe they might have size issues? But, like RIP says, breed what you like. I personally love the dilutes. They look so soft and pastel. Is it tricky to keep them pure for dilute without getting greywing and clearwing in there messing things up? (I'm assuming you would be crossing them to normals occasionally, and the normals might be hiding something?)
November 24, 200915 yr Author Thanks everyone. I think she is a keeper and I am going to focus on dilutes.
