My Flock (4 In Total)

Hello all I have a fairly small flock, four strong.

I got my first pair (both cocks) of budgey's about a year ago from the markets ( a christmas present).

Mozzie-A deep blue body with white head

Buddy-A light blue body with white head

after about 6 months sadly I awoke to Buddy still and lifeless at the bottom of my cage.

So i needed to find a new friend for Mozzie, so I called my cousin up a novice breeder and went looking for a friend.

Snowy-A pure white baby bird (still unknown what sex) now 6 months old

The pair have gotten on really well ever since and recently i decided to double my flock (for breeding in the future).

Bubbles - a Hen with a blue body and a white with black stripes head (hard to explain) which is about 8 months old.

Rascal - a cock that is young a nice yellow back with green/blue front.

The birds are soon going to become housed in a large aviary so i dont have to let them out in my room for their flying needs, and eventually breed. However I have concerns for the suitability of Snowy as a breeding bird due to a slight deformity in its feet.

I will be posting photos in the next couple of days.

Looking forward to your pics! :celebrate:

Lovely budgies :celebrate: Snowy is a female and her feet wont affect her breeding...she may have had a lack of calcium as a chick. She is red eyed and that makes her an albino :D

Thanks for that the thing with snowy is she has had little bits of blue and pink go into her cere it was changing every couple of days. But it has stayed the same as the photo for a couple of weeks now.

The other thing is with snowy her wings have been given a modified clip which allows her to get a little rise when she flies but not for long, would this make a large aviary with flying room a problem for her or is there anything i should consider?

Best to wait till the wings grow back before putting in an aviary or add a tall ladder or branches so she can climb if need be :celebrate:

Here are my GF's two birds which i might be able to snare for my aviary if things go my way lol...

A very young couple which looks likely to be a male & a female so might end up breeding.

I have Pics of 1 but not the other.

Lol lucky is so active he is a joy and i bring him to my house (going to bring blossom soon) and he starts tweeting (a specific tweet when he knows he is going to see my budgey's then they tweet back, I just open the food doors for both cages and join them up and lucky flies in with them. The worst is home time lol not his fav time, he wont just fly back will he.

Try and remember when putting birds in an aviary to NOT put any young birds ( under 12 months ) in an aviary with any nestboxes in there

Kaz im gunna be selecting pairs and getting specific breeding boxes, so that wont be a problem.
