Does any one want to comment as to weather they are starting to look the same

I think you definitely have a 'look' going Splat. Can't put my finger on what it is but its there...

this one I think is ever a violet green or olive as father is my shield winning violet and and the daughter of my yellow DF spangle and the violet hen and the violet hen is the mother of the violet.

He is going to be nice look at his wide head

Gorgeous.......and yes...you have established your own look now Splat :D Wonderful breeding results :celebrate:

Splat you are right about the birds having the same look about them! I would say they have a very square look about their top end. This is created by their great width across the head and the back skull they all seem to possess. If I were you, I would try and get some depth into the mask of the grey and dominant pied lines. The new dark green baby looks to have better depth than both those cocks already so you are obviously moving in the right direction!!

But yeah, that would be my comment, great shoulder, great width across the head and back skull but they could do with a bit more depth through the mask! Keep up the good work :celebrate: Your birds are beautiful!

yes splat i have to agree the only real place lacking is mask depth

not really able to say that as i dont have my own breed birds as yet :celebrate:

your hens have the masculine look thats nice the beautiful rounded head

i must admit they do look abit square headed but once they molt into adult hood they lose this look and is replaced with the nice big buff head blow

and this is when shes not blowing

Thanks GB yes it is true some of my birds take a long time to mature and most times I cull them far to early. I have one particular hen took monthe to go through her molt. I showed her in June this year she won but she still hadn't matured, should see her now so different and wow beautifull.
