A Ladder For My Aviaries

Featured Replies

Hi everyone thought I would share my idea , I hope I am not in the wrong post section, sorry if I am.

Well I made these ladders I have only taken pics of bits of one of them, but I use 2x 1 pine dressed would for the main piece and 1x1 for the steps plus I also used different size dowel so the birds acn excerise their feet.

It is a cheap and easy way to make a ladder for those birds that can't fly high.

At the start of the ladder I have fixed a piece os 1x1 at the very top of the wood on the wrong side and this allows me to position it over the perch and it sits there without moving. And easy to take away and clean or replace.

In the baby aviary I screwed it to a corner post not so easy to take away and clean etc.

Take a look.

The pics look straight up and down but they are not it is really on a good lean for the birds to jump from one perch to the next.

I just hope you like them Kaz, as long as you know they are not my best birds because of course they are still here so far, :raincloud: but the white one is a beauty. :raincloud:

It's funny once I started selling them Greg put a big stop to it..

On Saturday once I drop the birds off If I can find my way, I might go and have a look at an auction at Laverton :raincloud: But at the same time I might be that tied I might want to have a sleep.

Hello Splat, just saw this thread, may I know what wood you use for the ladder? I'm thinking of making a small one for the cage, do I need to "treat" the wood before use? I mean wash with hot water or soap or something? Thanks.
