Hi All, found an article with search function about using Aloe Vera Called keeping birds happy in natural condition. etc.

What I wanted to know is anyone following this and does it help. I have Aloe growing so thought it might be beneficial.

Thanks Dave, I thought I might try it as a general preventative to keep birds healthier. As Aloe is used in heaps of human things I didn't think it would be harmful. It's whether there are benefits to it.

It is the meditional one which I bought for our horse ( medical), but yes you get a leaf cut it open and put in the drinking water the hole thing, the same as rubbing it on our ski. When we had our horse I would put the jelly in his feed helped sort out his insides :)

I have a plant growing that i plan to use for the birds when its big enough :)

Thank's Splat, the article I read was pretty simple and we have aloe growing so it would be no expense to try it. If it's helpful to keep birds in healthy condition I think I'll give it a go. :thankyou:Hi Liv, Our's keep getting new shoots off the sides of plant, I'll take a couple more off and plant them out so I have a good supply going. We'll have to wait and see what results we get. Worth a try.

If budgies benefit from ingesting it, do people ever take it as a tea or otherwise? I love natural solutions whenever possible.
