Posted November 6, 200915 yr I have a clutch that are still in the breeding cage together with mum and dad, the first chick hatched on the 30th of September and the others a day or two after so the eldest is about 6 weeks old.... Mum has now gone for a second round with 1 egg in the box. I think I should take the babies out now and put them in the kindy cage as they seem to be eating on thier own okay now. Is this okay to do?
November 6, 200915 yr Yep, just keep an eye on them. Make sure there is plenty of seed and millet, lots of soft food and veggies. They tend to be floor eaters so if the bottom of the kindy cage is grated, lay down newspaper so seed can collect.
November 9, 200915 yr Author Thanks DEAN, LIV and KAZ... I kind of knew that this is what I was supposed to do but needed reassurance, after what happened with Cricket I was very scared to move mum dad or babies...... This is my kindy cage....

Those perches that go along the width of a cage need changing to two perches running front to back each side of the cage. I always put a wooden ladder in my kindie cages too
