Posted November 2, 200915 yr I've finally finished quarantining my new budgie, Skye so I have put him in the same cage as Marigold. All of a sudden he has been feeding, preening and singing to Marigold. He hops onto the same perch as Marigold and does all that. She pushes him away and he flies around the cage screeching. I'm starting to think he is in breeding mode and she isn't. I saw him trying to mate with her and she flipped upsidedown on the perch. Is that normal, should I be worried?
November 2, 200915 yr he is just a little randy from being isolated. I would let them be and if it doesnt settle in a few days or the hen gets stressed, separate him out again. Edited November 2, 200915 yr by **Liv**
November 3, 200915 yr I agree with Liv you can also let them be together during the day and then separate at night. There is an article on how to Intro a 2nd Bird in the FAQ's if you would like to review that.
