October 12, 200915 yr I don't know, but it's so cool to see them ultra-close at this stage! How did we ever manage without digital cameras?
October 16, 200915 yr Author It's been a few more days now and the two older ones might be mauves (I'm hoping!) but the younest one looks like a pied...I don't understand budgie genetics but is this possible from this pairing? I'm not colony breeding so I know exactly who the parents are so I guess I'm wondering if I'm correct in thinking he/she might be a pied....I'll try to get some more photos this weekend.
October 16, 200915 yr You are most likely right about the youngest being a pied as looking back on the photo it has patches on the wings. It will be a recessive pied..........white and blue Two eldest are females it looks like too. Edited October 16, 200915 yr by KAZ

That's amazing! Both the eldest babies have a lot of white on their cere so that makes them females. Cant see the cere of the pied as he is behind the other two.
October 16, 200915 yr Author Any idea what colour the older two are going to be?..they don't seem to have even a hint of blue. Edited October 16, 200915 yr by defieldsfamily
October 16, 200915 yr You will see the first hint of colour at the base of the tail near the skin usually underneath....look there for evidence of colour coming through
