5 Baby Budgies!

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

This is my first time breeding so just looking for tips and starters, we have five babie budgies at the moment, the first of which hatched on the 2 October.

I tried to access my photobucket account but it wouldn't let me, so I'll just have to get some photos on later, is their any other way to insert pictures?

^_^

Will try to get pictures sometime today...

I look forward to your pictures. There is no way to insert pictures without something like photobucket.

That's great can't wait to see the photos ^_^

Sorry you can't see all the babies in this photo but they're all there!!!

If you have any ideas about the colours or what gender they will be then don't hesitate to share.

Green is dominant and the only way you will get any blue babies is if the green Dad is split for blue.

Yes, I had supposed that, but he was bred in an avairy with many different colours and cannot be tracked back, I guess only time can tell...

When the chicks get their pin feathers on their wings......if yellow, all in likelihood it should mean green chicks, and if pins are white it will mean blue series chicks.

Thanks Kaz, I was also wandering at what age do the pin feathers show up, and what about a kindy cage?

What age should they go into a kindy cage, does the father and mum go in their, or none at all, practically some information on kindy cages.

My babies go into a kindie cage when they are eating on their own. I dont decide by their age, but by their state of wellbeing.

Without their parents, but most often with other babies. Its where they learn to eat well, play with others, fly and socialise.

The pin feathers have started to come through, we think they are a whitish colour, but we are not sure, a couple of the others seem to have yellow coming through. We will try to get pictures tomorrow.
