January 20, 201015 yr David is a hebrew name, or is it simply Christian name It was David who slew Goliath in the old testament, when he fought with God on his side, this young David went on to become King David, one of the kindest and most benevolent rulers of his time. King David wrote many psalms that appear in the Bible. Perhaps the most famous is Psalm 23. We have all heard the lines.... "Yay, though i walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil..." David...Beloved...loved by the Lord and by his people. A name I am proud to carry. Any budgie would be proud too -

So, top o' the mornin' to ye, Dave!
January 20, 201015 yr Me heritage is Irish and Scottish so I am happy with that Finnie. David - Irish - ties in with the Rooney Clan McMinn - Scottish - the McMinn's are part of a clan that includes names such as Menzies plus others. I need to find out more about this. There is a shop at Birkenhead Point here in Sydney that has all things Scottish. I will have to go there sooner or later. Edited January 20, 201015 yr by Dave_McMinn

January 20, 201015 yr Kilt's are a great idea, but can get draughty. I remember a fancy dress party one night, excellent, funny, looked terrific, but had to change out of the skirt as the wind whipping around was freezing
January 21, 201015 yr I am a full 25% Scottish, myself. The other 75% being very mixed up with a lot of stuff! So I am partial to Gaelic things, especially books written by or about Scots. It is my dream to go to Scotland someday. And, in fact, my oldest son's name is Scott. (But that's just a coincidence- and a long story. ) Someone in my mother's family did a search, and I think we go back to the McCleods.
