I was wondering if anyone has experience of mixing Budgies with Scarlet Chested Parrots, do they get on alright or is it recommended not to mix the two breeds?

We used to have both. We kept them in seperate aviaries. I am a believer that budgies should only be with budgies and no other birds.

I am not sure about Scarlet Chested Parrots, but I keep cockatiels with my budgies and also 1 rainbow lorikeet and they are all happy and never fight.

 

My friend keeps doves and princess parrots and kakarikis and cockatiels with her budgies.

hi there..easy solution...dont put them in with budgies....budgies are very aggressive..we learnt the hard way,not by putting them in with budgies but by having them 2 close to the back door..they never saw us coming round the corner and would just drop dead

Leason we learnt after 8 birds died...since we moved them into another aviary where they see us coming...NOT 1 has died in 2 yrs
