October 7, 200915 yr this are my clearwing Hi Shannon. Your clearwings are really beautiful! I have a hen who looks just like this, and I have never known her proper mutation before. I will now start thinking of her as a clearwing! Would it be considered cobalt, or violet? Anyway, I just love the look of your birds- the ones in your other posts, too. -Finnie
October 7, 200915 yr Some nice looking clearwings you've got there! Be careful with the pairings ..... the wings DO get dirty when you outcross to Normals .... sigh
October 7, 200915 yr Author thank's Finnie hey renee i am only pairing clear clearwing to normals and not so clearwings to clear clearwings
October 7, 200915 yr Some nice looking clearwings you've got there! Be careful with the pairings ..... the wings DO get dirty when you outcross to Normals .... sigh Yep they sure do! Hey Shannon, be prepared to make this a several year project. That big violet clearwing I showed you, his babies are tragic and that was to quite a clear winged hen....... sigh. The clearwings I've bred from normal splits back to the clearest bird I could find are all quite strongly marked. I can definitely see why people say that this is one of the hardest varieties to get improvement in. Get size - Lose clarity - that just seems to be it..... Some nice birds there though. The 07 lightgreen hen has outstanding wings. Lovely colours too - one of the reasons why I love clearwings is for the pretty colours - it's so nice to have the colour flashes in the aviary in amoungst all those grey green birds
