Moose On The Loose.

Yesterday, l was traveling back home. I decided to drive through Riding mountain park. It was a cloudy and misty day. As l was driving l noticed a truck parked on the opposite side of the highway. l slowed down almost to a stop. l looked towards the ditch and l saw a young moose. l quickly got my camcorder out and got some pictures of the graceful creature.

Good candid shots with the fall foliage... I hear they are dangerous if cornered, but I guess you were in his territory!

The last picture is adorable. I read a beautiful short story of a boy who fed then befriended a massive one and got him over a heavy winter.

excellent pictures Cathy, I see fall is coming your way too :)

That is really interesting. The last picture shows his face so well. Are there any other large mammals in the park?

Yes, there are some elk, black bears, bison/buffaloes and wolves.

very interesting....it is a very gentle creature.

It looks sweet and gentle, Daniela, but from what I have heard...you don't want to be getting within charging distance of one of those!

Birdluv, I'm hoping you had a really good zoom on your camera?

My camera was zoomed, l was in my car :D

It is true that they will charge if they feel cornered.

are moose real i thought they were just fairtale animals lol shows my knowledge

You are probably thinking of a cartoon series called Bullwinkle J Moose about a friendly moose and his escapades. It was a cracking show, I loved it!

Can't say for sure, but reasonable that you would make the association between cartoons and fairy tales as a little tacka... i think...
