January 13, 201015 yr When I first saw this thread I thought someone had used the canary red color factor liquid drops to change the feather colour...until stupid me remembered that the red factor liquid would enhance ALL feathers, not just the wings. I think budgies looking the way these ones do are rather strange and not really something I'd want in my aviary. We all like colors and mutations but if it IS due to someone playing around with chemicals and not an act of nature, then it's very much a definite no no. AHAHA If budgies really did look like that, wouldn't we go rub budda's tummy for more good luck? Or go see Mary because its a miracle? Just out of curiosity too - to get that orange color naturally, wouldn't you need a yellow budgie to breed with a red one?

I actually took the time to track down the source of it and joined the forum where these budgies made their first appearance. The owner of these birds (Rene from Mexico) made a brief appearance to rant at me for questioning whether they were indeed a new mutation as he was implying and then once I posted a comprehensive statement from RIP explaining the improbability of their legitimacy he disappeared altogether. He refused to provide genetic background for the birds or provide photos of their relatives.
January 13, 201015 yr I really like how one of them is "orange wings and, where I accedientally spilled some bleach, bits of orange body".

January 13, 201015 yr You can see that they have stuck their heads in something before they bleached ( Like a cardboard roll) , the head feathers didnt get the bleach. You would think you would do a better job with pratice. Thumbs down from me.

January 13, 201015 yr I have some news, sory no pictures, but I taked with owner (Rene) and he tolked me that budgies had moulted and they still have orenge wings, but niw he is not going to breed them. I want to buy them but he lives so far from my house.... I have to wait a friend of mine that drive from USA to Puebla bring me them. Luisagol, Dave has said it clearly, and I will repeat it: This man JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY (Notice he is not going to breed them? Duh, it wouldn't work! )

Luisagol, Dave has said it clearly, and I will repeat it: This man JUST WANTS YOUR MONEY I want to buy them but he never acept it. I proposed to buy some birds to the original breeder neither this way. May e all you are in the rihgt way.

Look in all fairness to Rene from Mexico, I think it started out as a practical joke and then went all horribly wrong for him when it 'went global'. Although I do think that whatever he did to those poor birds' feathers was a bit low, I only hope they didn't suffer too much in the process.
