Are Bonsai Trees Safe?

Featured Replies

I was just wondering if Bonsai trees are safe for budgie's because I have resently bought one and I let my budgie's out to fly every other day. If they aren't I can quite easyly move it out the room for a few moments while I have the budgie's out.

Hi Jodie

It would depend on what sort of tree has been bosaied. All sorts of kinds of trees are used and I am sure some would be safe and some unsafe. A picture of the leaves of something may be helpful so that we can identify the tree.

Thanks my6babies

Agreed... a Bonsai is not just one species... but it it were me, instead of worrying, just move it, as being a Bonsai, it's only small :-)

It's a azalea bonsai tree

personally birds know better than us whats safe to them and wont go eatting poisonus plants at random

however budgies chew everthing specially when board so i would say safe or not isnt the issue its your plant in danger not the birds from where i see it

id move it for its own safety if you have thought about it enough to post the question then you must know that either way either the birds or the plant will get hurt

i know i wouldnt like my ornamental bonsi to be chewed regardless of if it was safe for them or not with the amount of years thoughs poor starved and tortchured deformed trees take to grow .... i myself would just move it
