Posted September 25, 200915 yr Okay I just recently gotten back from the shops and bought some more cuttle bone for the cage and as I was putting it in, Lemon was making a very strained noise and she looked a bit in pain, she has a few dropping covering her feathers around her bottom, what is going on with her? I am kinda freaking out. What should I do with her? Edited September 25, 200915 yr by Teagan

September 26, 200915 yr How's Lemon doing today? I hope she's alright I've spent countless nights awake and worried about my birds, it's no fun when you think they may be sick. And they always seem to come down ill when the vet is closed! I've got my fingers crossed for you.
September 26, 200915 yr How is Lemon today? Do keep Lemon covered on all three sides and keep her warm (temp should be above 75F), warm can amazing bring a budgie out of feeling down, it could be a number of things as said above we can't diagnosis Lemon but we can certainly give you advice on what do to before you get her to the avian vet.
September 26, 200915 yr everyone is right keep very warm i just saved 8 birds who came down from a draft in aviary i thought they were sick with what ever but before i got to take to vet they all came good in warm house i have a room that i have a heater in on a regulated heat of 28 degree when my birds come down over night fluffed up and slight or bad poo bum if no improvement in few hours and they become worse off to vets if vet not open up with heat to 32 and vet straight in morn i was lucky this time they were just all cold and slight draft got them unwell be sure to keep them warm for till weather becomes fine if you do this with outside birds as i do be prepared for a messy room for some time hee heater stays of when birds are themselves again but birds stay inside and during day window open on nice days to get use to outside again not many would sugest this but i have saved many birds like this hope lemon is well and nothing happened to her birds get sick so quickly sometimes
