Posted September 24, 200915 yr I have always loved lacewings. I love both the yellow and white variety of the lacewing, but i have never owned one. I could never bring myself to buy the culled lacewings i have seen so far that have as few features as a bush budgie, so i just held out until something I really liked came around. On the weekend as many of you know, there was an auction in Perth, and after reviewing the catalouge, Kaz very kindly offered to bid on anything I liked :star: Well there was a beautiful lacewing hen for sale from our very own Nubbly!! I melted when I saw her photo and knew she was the hen for me. With Kaz's awesome help, we won her!! She arrived at the Adelaide airport yesterday and these photos were taken when she first came out of the travel box. I popped her in the show cage first for a quick photo and to get a gauge of her size (REALLY HAPPY) and as you can see she traveled very well and didn't even miss a meal Here she is... Thank you Kaz and Nubbly
September 24, 200915 yr She's a lovely bird and one nubbly was thinking of keeping for herself. Others on the day certainly didnt want to see her leave W.A. thats for sure Glossy fluffy feather, great bodyweight, flowing feathers out over her leggies, frontal rise and a great length of mask. A beauty like this deserves a name. PS Liv forgot to mention she got 12th in the Nationals. Edited September 24, 200915 yr by KAZ

September 25, 200915 yr What do you name the birds you breed? You can go with the George Foreman school of naming. George named all his children Geroge - even the girls. George Andrew and George Melissa, etc. You could do that with Liv -
September 25, 200915 yr I reckon Geroge is a great name! I bet no one else has it. The offspring could be Geroge House Hunk, Geroge Lollibridgia, Geroge Lollibudgera, Geroge Gina Junior etc. She is a beautiful little bird ... it is very naughty of you all to make jokes.
