October 14, 200915 yr Author Great result!! very cute little babies you have had better results than me with yoyr fertility okay so it seems you have jinx me :hap: .......I have thrown out 3 nests of eggs this week  . Not sure what is going on.....this is round 2 for one of the hens, I threw all her last lot out exept 1 egg last time coz they were all clear, I am wondering whether she is a box bound hen and hasn't been coming out for him to mate with her. This is a real shame as she has layed 8 eggs in both lots , and the other 2 hens not sure what has gone wrong both have had fertile eggs, 1 hens were all dried up but clearly fertile and the other hen, hers had gone rotten but also had been fertile...........it is sooo frustrating, especially when you know they were fertile but still nothing come of them Arrggghhhhhh :S Well it seems I stuck my head out the back door just in the nick of time. I just found my Cavaliers digging under one of my bird cages  Hmmmmmm they have never done it before but I am not taking any chances looks like concrete floors it is!!!!!My Cavaliers would eat my birds in a split second if they had the chance too  Your babies are looking great.....really good photos Thanks Kaz, I have a pretty good camera so it helps.....and I have finally worked out how to dull the flash . My cavaliers are okay if they are on their own but as soon as they get together in a pack they will kill anything even my chooks  the little buggers killed 10 chooks one night. Can you tell what sex any of the 3 chicks are gonna be?
October 14, 200915 yr Author The green hens 3rd egg hatched but when I found it, it was flat and lifeless.....so me being me, I rushed it inside and breathed on it for about half and hour and it eventually came to life . I heated it up and fed it, it seemed to be moving around fine and cheeping at me so I went and placed it back under mum....it is huddling into the other babies so that has to be a good sign...I will keep an eye on it over the next few hours and hopefully all will be good.......will update in the morning

Not sure if it is going to be a Lutino or an Albino...but I guess I will wait and see.....for those interested it had hatched out of my green hen and normal blue cock........is this possible?

Thanks Kaz, I knew you would be able to tell me .........I was so surprised I was expecting her to have just blues or greens and I forgot to mention mum is a green spangle...not sure if this makes any diffenerence. I have moved my 3 older babies into a cage on their own. I have seen them eating and drinking on their own and mum has started laying again and the babies kept getting back in the nest and busting her eggs. I have them in a small cage inside at the moment just to make sure they are going to fair okay without mum and dad. Guess I wil have to wait to see if I have a Lutino or an Albino...I will keep posted

Also my grey and white dominant pied hen x normal grey cock have hatched an Ino too, does same thing apply here? I finally got a pair of Lutino's so we will get Lutino babies now , also bought a new hen which I believe is a........hmmm, I will post photos of her later and ask what colour she is 99% chance I will get it wrong if I try and guess I have started to mark my eggs as I got myself a little confused with some babies this time round.
