Posted September 11, 200915 yr Hi, I have just had 3 babies hatch out in the past 48 hours. 2 under one hen and 1 under another, my question is why is it that 1 of the babies was born with red eyes and the others have got black eyes? neither pairs of parents are Lutino or Albino. There is probably an easy explination for my question but I have never bred before this is my first time. Is it possible that they could have thrown back to the Lutino or Albino?
September 11, 200915 yr Yes.......Dad is most likely split for ino. Check this out http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....c=23215&hl= Edited September 11, 200915 yr by KAZ
September 11, 200915 yr Author Thanks Kaz, I thought that may have been the case but as I am knew to this I thought I would get an experts opinion I know this will sound dumb but does this mean that the baby will be either Lutino or Albino or will it just carry the red eyes? If its actually plum eyed it is just reinforcing the fact the baby is recessive pied, but if actually red RED it is ino. Check that topic I gave you the link to about red, plum and black eyes. I have been breeding budgies since 2004.
