my femaile budgie has let three male budgies mate with her. how do i now who is the father

Edited by KAZ

You wont. Unless your grasp of genetics is really good and until the babies feather up you will at that stage have to try and work it out.

Hi Fero.Does she have eggs yet or is she just being "flighty". I'm new at this also but guess if she had eggs one male would start acting like a partner feeding her etc. Ya think!! but that may not mean he's dad to all. Good luck. :D

FERO ............i went out side to have a look at my birds and noticed my other hen was going into someone else breeding box (i only have 2 hens and like 6 boxes) and she killed 3 chicks

you seem to have now experienced what happens when you colony breed.

oh too sad :D really i must have missed all this

i guess you will be rethinking your breeding options mate

why is it that no one listens to the bad experiences of other colony breeding posts then wonder why their beloved babys whom appear sooo placed and friendly to each other all of a sudden turn nasty

and kill, mane and plainly just turn psychotic??????

no birds breed with out problems in a colony situation :(

i am sorry for this happening and do hope every one thinking of colony breeding

takes this and reconsiders B)
