Pretty simple really. When you want to send a budgie, you need the correct travel cage. Size depends on the number of budgies. You don't want them to have too much room to move around, but not too little so they start attacking each others.

 

I take mine to Australian Air Express, where they measure the box, weigh the box, and then put them on the next QANTAS flight. You book them on a minimum of 1 hour before, and you can pick them up 1 hour after.

 

No water in the box, but it is good to put some millet in there.

 

Not that expensive, it just requires a bit of help from the sending end.

thanks Dave I was thinking about trying to get some budgies sent to me when I can find some but didn't know the ins and outs of it all so guess I better get hold of a box first thanks heaps

Generic Blue, dave Mc Minn, Liv and other have all had birds shipped from W.A. I am soon to send some from other people to Generic Blue again. Lots of people are able to advise and help you.

What are you after ?

thanks kaz I am pretty much after pieds( rec or dom ), spangles, greywing, opalines,cinnamon & yellowface and I do love the blues it's a pretty broad wish list I know but I am trying to build up my flock with these I do have a fair few normals and violet opalines at the moment so just trying to bring in some different ones and also more of my favorites it would be great if you could keep me in mind if anything comes up

Pet type or show ? I have some show bred recessive pieds I am getting out of.

I would like to get into the show ones (although will look at pet ones too ) as all the ones I have now are pet ones and it would be great to get one a whole lot closer to the breed standard than what I have now
