April 19, 200520 yr If your cage is really 2ft x 1ft x ? it is FAR too small for two birds - I don't care what the pet store told you. Unless you have the cage open ALL the time and they are allowed free flight around the room most of the time to get properly exercised. As to whether or not this is cramping their style for breeding - hard to say. You have to understand that budgies can be pretty picky and it doesn't matter if they are both in condition, both mature enough (you don't say how old they are), both on their cycle together (his cere is blue and hers is brown together), love the nest box you provided and are in all other respects happy - if they don't like the look of each other - it ain't going to happen. Bit like people really.........

April 19, 200520 yr In addition to what others have said, I want to add that a seed diet alone isn't best for them. It can lead to malnutrition. It would be good to try to get them to eat a high quality pellet food as well but I think the most important thing is to add fresh and cooked foods into their diets. You can find a lot of information on the internet about what foods are good for your budgies and what aren't. (Note that a lot of outdated websites and books will say that seed alone is good enough but more recent studies have shown that it is not enough and has very little nutritional value. It's quite different to what they would find in the wild.)

Hi there, I do not want to see text shortcuts again in your posts thankyou. 4. Internet Text Shortcuts.(What is meant by this: Enuf, luv, thanks, woz, plz, phun and so on.) There are many, many people of all ages and languages that frequently visit this forum. English is hard enough for some people when it is their native language. There are people that post here that English is a second or even third language. Not everyone knows what shortcuts mean. It is like slang - if you're not from that area you don't understand what is being said. We want this forum to be as friendly, fun, and informative for everyone as we can make it, and one way we do that is to not allow text shortcuts in your posts. It's not hard to type your responses using proper English. However, we do allow a select few of the very commonly known internet shortcuts which are listed right here: LOL (Laughing Out Loud), brb (be right back) and OMG (Oh My God). Members may only use these selected internet text shortcuts when it is appropriate.
