Bird Bath

Featured Replies

bird bathes are not safe because they have a hard time getting out even for adult budgies from what I understand. I personally would not use it.

Canaries like bird baths but budgies and water do not mix, they like a bit of a shower but a bath is not advisable.

One of my baby budgies once drowned in a dish similar to this.

animal_luver I use this bird bath... Lucy is the brave one taking a first dip. For first inspection I think it helped to have it right next to the perch as Horton is very "cautious" shall we say.

While dad was in with the 6-8-week-old chicks I put one in their cage on a hot day, with water barely covering the bottom. After dad showed them how, they fought over a chance to jump in and walk around. But I did remove it after 10 minutes or so.
