Posted August 22, 200915 yr A lime tree. Its very small.. I read somewhere that the branches are safe but what about the leaves and the limes? Please I need to know ASAP Thanks in advance.
August 23, 200915 yr I don't know but it's not on my list of toxic plants. On my list, it has citrus trees as being safe. I'd try and find someone else who gives lime to their birds before I gave them any more. The list says nothing about leaves.
August 23, 200915 yr Author Thank you :budgiedance: I've been looking online for an answer but nothing.. Some lists say citrus trees are safe. Some have lime on the unsafe lists so I have no idea which is correct. I really need to know though.. arg.
August 23, 200915 yr "Fresh branches and twigs also occupy the birds. Fir, spruce, hazelnut, willow, birch, beech, linden/lime and fruit tree branches can be used without danger" http://www.animal-protection.net/sites/factsheets/voegel.pdf Cannot confirm if it is correct or not but that site says its fine. It doesnt say anything about fruit or leaves though so maybe its just the branches they eat.
August 23, 200915 yr Author Thanks Pearce. That's one of the links I found. This is the tree I'm talking about: I'd like to let my birds explore it and play around on it but I want to be 100% sure its safe.
