Plants In Cage

Featured Replies

A plant its self is a bit tricky as the budgie will destroy it pretty quick. You would be better getting fresh branches from eucalypti trees, and bottle brush etc. They also love native grasses and milk thistles etc.

I agree with Liv. Plants are food to budgies. Will look nice for all of five minutes and then it will be destroyed.

Well where i live are buildings of flats and not much trees around and very short grass. So not much choice really, sad. What do milk thistles look like? I have never heard of milk thistles.

Sorry, its not milk thistle... i dont know my weeds very well hehe.

Its a Sow thistle that grows VERY well in my garden...

my budgies rip to shreads gum tree leaves. If you live in the 'concrete jungle' so to spead, you may be better off buying veggies for them.

corn

carrot

silver beet

spinach

ect...

Yes, MySixBabies is right, fruit and veg is just as good. I am mainly using weeds and grasses at the moment as they are readily available to me at the moment. But the rest of the year they get silver beet, beetroot, carrot, corn, snow peas, broccoli etc
