Posted August 15, 200915 yr It was hubby and I's anniversary on Friday, he took the kids out today for the morning and when they got back I was given a beautiful necklace and 2 BUDGIES!!! YAY !!!, I tried so hard to contain my horror when I saw these two little angels, as 1 had VERY WRONG clipped wings... My daughter picked the pied with the clipped wings and hubby picked the Lutino.... Such a sweet gesture, but who in their right mind clips wings so far, it was a pet shop, my husband is aware on my thoughts of pet shops, so not even sure why he went there...I don't want to say anything and seem ungrateful..... Since the pictures were taken I have bathed her wings in some warm water, is there anything more I can do?? Also...I sure one is Lutino...Im thinking hen....quite young. Is the other a recessive pied hen??...no iris rings....not sure on age?? Thank you.... Anne
August 15, 200915 yr What a pity about the wings You have a dominant pied female and a creamino or YF ino...female too looks like.
August 15, 200915 yr If you carefully pull out the wing buts where they were cut they will grow back in no time. Poor pied looks like it's been bleeding
August 15, 200915 yr I agree with Splat..... the ones that have been bleeding are best pulled out. We have instructions on how to pull a blood featherr in our FAQ section.
August 15, 200915 yr I agree with Kaz on the mutations as long as she had red eyes (I can't tell) they look young like around the 3-4 month mark.
August 15, 200915 yr Author Yes, Elly she has red eyes..... Why am I getting confused with recessive and dominant?.......back to the books.. (I feel so doughy sometimes!!)
August 16, 200915 yr Yes, Elly she has red eyes..... Why am I getting confused with recessive and dominant?.......back to the books.. :celebrate: (I feel so doughy sometimes!!) Don't at first glance she does look recessive but when you really look at the patterning of the marks on the head and wings she is showing dominant pied. :celebrate:

Is that the black patches on her wings you mean Elly?
