Posted August 11, 200915 yr Should I happen to be munching on some nuts, and "Eagle" is on the loose, he will launch himself beak first at my lips endeavoring to feed. That beak is like a chisel and he often succeeds. While mildly flattered, I know where that beak goes. [yuk] Does he think I am his mother? or do mates feed each other?
August 11, 200915 yr You are his significant other and in the budgie world you bond with each other and you share with each other............poopy beaks and all You only have to worry when he mates with your hand, your feet, your toes etc. unless of course you do look like his mother  do you have feathers ? August 11, 200915 yr Author Crikey, you buy a budgie, you really are talking COMMITMENT... ah well, too late...
August 11, 200915 yr All joking aside, as Kaz said this is very normal for a single budgie to act this way they do bond to their humans. This is why a lot of people just have a single budgie because the bond is stronger. If you don't like it of course you can put some kind and gentle no's in place they do understand that along with not giving them an opportunity to flirt like that.
August 11, 200915 yr Author I don't want him to think I'm a party pooper but I do like the idea of some boundaries...
August 11, 200915 yr Richo........you really need to start using some UGLY CREAM........Eagle finds you far too attractive
August 11, 200915 yr Author All jokes aside there is a balance that must be found...however... he never tries to feed me???
August 11, 200915 yr Merlin is very flirty with me too, Pretty was too when he was the sole budgie, when you find they are going through that flirty stage you can give them extra cover hours for a week or 2 and that will calm the hormones, they will always tend to flirt that is okay but if gets to a point that you don't approve then you can take action .
