When my friend got their budgie about a year ago, it used to wee actual water type stuff. Apart from that he seemed okay and just sort of grew out of it.

 

Last week, he started doing it again and seemed fairly depressed with it too. He's brightening up again now.

 

Anyone got any ideas?

Budgies mostly poop clear water like urates when stressed. He could be stressed by any of these things: diet, environment, illness and parasites. A vet visit might be a good idea and they can examine the poop under a microscope and help rule out illness and parasites.
