Posted July 31, 200915 yr Hello I am new to this so I hope someone can help me?..I have ordered a new avairy and was planning it to face south in the garden, however I was reading last night a Bourke's Backyard book and he suggested the avairy should always face north as the budgies need the northern aspect sun or they will be unhappy? I can do this but they will be out of sight and away from the house. What is the best thing to do..The south facing area is also more shady. :hap: Thanks Candice
July 31, 200915 yr Whatever you do will be right for you and your budgies. Since you know your backyard and the location and we dont, ............just be guided by your own knowledge of that and common sense. All will be fine. and :hap: Edited July 31, 200915 yr by KAZ

July 31, 200915 yr Agree with kaz, but also keep in mind which way the weather comes from... ie cold winds and RAIN... If you can avoid having this blasting in the front of the avairy, the better, but again... depends one your backyard. I live near Melbourne and we get cold southerly winds, and our worst weather comes from the south and west, so my avairy faces north east, but also has a large tree near it which provides shade from the summer heat.
