How Long?

I am wondering how long to keep a pair in a breeding cage for?

I have 4 paired up at the moment 2 pairs have been in for 2 weeks, not really doing much.

The 2 other pairs are mating, chatting together, but no eggs, they have been in for a week.

From the other post I'm reading and the FAQ's and search, it seems that it should happen fairly quickly?

I am giving them extra veg, and crumble etc...

These birds were "paired" in the avairy, meaning...always together, the cock feeding the hen etc....

I realize that all birds are different but, is there a rough time frame? I don't want to stress them out.... :P

Thanks in advance :D

Anne

The general amont of time is 21 days if no signs of breeding then the pair are removed, but if i see signs in a pair i really want to go down i'll leave up to 28 or so

Sometimes they need longer to get acquainted. I leave them in for 4 weeks.

1 month is generally the limit... if nothing happen's by then, Then nothing happen's at all really... make sure you supply cuttlebone and other calcium supplement's.

3-4 weeks is it for me too, but sometimes I have changed the cage location and the whole mood changes and I get results.

i agree with kaz it does sometimes depend on location and also depends and level of bondage and breeding cycle ( usually sevn weeks)
