doe every plain coloured bird that has a small head spot mean its split for pied i have a green one with a small yellow spot its the green one in the middle its a boy

If you see them on Spangles it doesn't mean they are split it is a normal part of the muation, if you see them on normals yes it means they are split for recessive (most likely).

No its a spangle..........spots on spangles dont mean split for recessive............it can be part of spangle heritage.

I was going more by the title of the post head spots on budgies and making a general statement which still covers his question about his bird too.

they appear on spangles because pieds where used an lot in their breeding when the spangle breed first appeared.

 

as kaz said when eon a spangle bird it doesn't mean they are are split.
