Sleeping More

Hi...my 3 month old budgie recently has started sleeping more than it did when it was 2 months old. Also it is sleeping now with its head turned towards its back and sleeping on it.Is this normal? He was extremely active when we bought him a month ago..he is now not all that active. The remaining birds all are okay...they are chirpy and playful as ever...I dont know if this bird is a male or a female. The only best part is he eats well and drinks good amount of water.I'm worried please help.

If there is a sudden behavior change, being fluffed up, sleeping more, listless your bird is sick and should be seen by an avian vet. I would quarantine her into another cage and see if you can take a look at her dropping also to see if they are normal or not. Keeping her isolated from the others will help you determine and see the signs better.

sleeping with its head back under its wing is generally normal. is the bird moulting because that could be a reason why its moulting. if you want to knowif its a boy or girl, send a picture :)

It is normal for budgies to sleep with their heads tuck but if it associated with listfullness and other behavior changes as you have mentioned it is not normal.
