What Type Of Bird

hello this hen just has black eyes i will put some photos of both up sorry should have thought and did thati dont know where she came from i DONT colony breed must have looked diffrent before moulting or something i dont know anything about lacewings ps this is the one you guys helped out already on identifying for me thank you

i wouldnt be lucky to have beautiful fallows or blackeyed selfs or anything along those lines in MY aviary just wouldnt happen i just have common birds

well the only thing i can think of is its a black eyed self as as nubbly says we dont get german or scottish fellows here so my theroy is out lol

but i thought as much :rofl:

so birds do moult out darker than when they young sometimes twice their shade if not more by time they adult

do you have rec pied and clearflight pied ( which is basically a domanant pie with out the banding )

as thats all u need to breed black eyed selfs

 

i know you dont colany breed but nor do i and i just got two in one nest from pet types blackeyed selfs

dad was a clearflighted spangle cinnamon

mum a rec pied hen so

and i always just thought dad was spangle as thats what everyone told me when i said he was clear flight

turned out i was right when i first got him 3 years ago

now he was always just with the wrong bird to get anything other than norm/ino and cinnamon hens

 

yah if this bird isnt a black eyed self i do have these pied types you mentioned gb i havent bred any of them yet i will now :yes: they are all over 12 months maybe 14 months

with the colony breeding im not against it at all but i chose the other way more fun for me all i meant by that is i know something else dint jump on and help themselves :rofl: sometimes wouldnt be a bad idear probably make better choices than me ha

can a spangle be split for these variety they happen to be show stock lines i was using a few in breeding boxes im not a show breeder bout the time she would of been born i was contrating on my crests and dominate pieds so if the crests didnt show least i had pied birds to look at ect

um i know only about the types and mutations im set on breeding sorry

but with saying that

no bird can be split for dominant pied

it is a visual feature

as i believe it

any bird can b split for anything provided its a receive gene

in saying that birds that do carry a dominant gene can pass this dominance on eg color genetics :violet,double dark factor stuff like that

sex linked verity need to sex linked loco thingys on their chromosomes to pass on the visual out come of a feature

eg ,lacewing,albino,opaline ,slate birds also are sex linked even know this is a colour ?figure!

so basiclly if a bird you brought was split fror anything sex linked or rececive and you brought another bird with this same genetic inheratance ,sex linked or rececive then you will most certainly have vishual featchures of these mutations poping up in your clutches (thats the fun of being a novice breeder )

however show breeders dont get as many of these suprise bundales as they do not cross certain genetics or sex linkages with certain type or colour for that matter (although some do ,it is personal choise )eg you would not cross breed a lacewing with a grey wing to get a better quality lacewing as the split lacewing cock would also carry the rececive gene for grey wing as well as the sex linkage for lacewing , any hen would recive the recesive genes as rececive genes get passed to both female and male

the rezult of some one breeding these two genetic combanations when breed down the line to say half brothers cousins ect would mean grey wings would pop up in your lacewing nests apart from the fact that the markings on the lacewings would be depromentally afected

so thats just a breif sum up of why its not done but relisticlly any mutation can be breed with anything else

so long its two budgies then your pretty much right

just in able to achive certain birds with certain qualitys it is best to study their genetic make up ,and linkages to achive the studio type bird your after when showing quality comes into the aquashion
