yes lacewing green based you will get /lacewing cocks if you put her with any cock .

if with put her with a albino you will get lutino /white /lacewing cocks or lutino hens

so that just means the cocks put with white (albino) or blue base birds will produes white

albinos or lacewings hens but im talking lutino or albino put with lutino/ lacewing cock you would get same out come but all lacewings if you put the lutino /lacewing cock to a lacewing hen

hope that makes sence

I answered the other post with the side view she is a Green Lacewing as stated. Very pretty.

Lutino is a different mutation all together.

elly is right what i said was to get both mutations from one bird :D you could do that :)

GB is right you can have more then 1 mutation on a bird but with Lacewing this is a combination of Lutino (if yellow) or Albino (if white) with Cinnamon Gene together. So saying that a Lacewing = Lutino Cinnamon (but they are not called that they are considered a mutation), it wouldn't be the same as say a Spangle Cinnamon :). Now that is confusing.

Here is the description: http://www.budgieplace.com/c_lacewing.html

Lacewing

Lacewing is a composite variety of lutino/albino and cinnamon. The budgie is mostly yellow (in yellow-based budgies) or mostly white (in white-based budgies). A suffusion of the body color is slightly visible in the body feathers. The markings of the head, wings, and tail show up as a light cinnamon color and the cheek patches are pale violet. The eyes are red/pink, and the cere of the male lacewing does not change normally. Adult male lacewings have purple ceres. Adult female lacewings have the normal white/tan/brown ceres. This variety is mostly only seen in exhibition budgies.

you cant always see the sheen

but usually they do have one

if you breed it to a dark olive or mauve or grey that should counteract it and dull the sufusion

im not sure with green base birds i try to stick to blue base as its what i know

Yellow lacewing not lutino.

cool. i learn something new everyday. i got con fused because i read the same thing elly showed so i thought that was a lutino excetra, and yeah :)

No it would not be the same mutation (yes still the same breed a budgie).

 i made a mistake i meant mutation silly me

does the other bird have iris rings or not ?????

do you have a picture

back, side and frount best if pos :)

Probably a blackeyed self but photo's of them both for comparison would be helpful.

thats what i was thinking nubbly or the other alternate could be a cinnamon yellow or a wrongly breed fellow aparently if you breed two fellows of difrent type eg german and i dont know scotis just egzampals your out come is black eyed birds that look like fellows

just a thought

They both have red eyes, though one has iris ring and one does not. Haven't heard of a combination of both - wouldn't that be normal split for both types of fallow or do they act on the same alele and cause major wierdness and black eyes? Plus there is a bit of writting suggesting that the English and Scottish fallows don't exist in Australia.

Cinnamon fallows look virutally identical to lacewings but also have red eyes.

Cinnamon yellow IS a blackeyed self if I'm understanding the yellow correctly as a dilute.

I also had fleeting thoughts of dilutes generally but they usually have much more body colour than lacewings and blackeyes. Might be some other combination that we haven't thought of either I suppose.

Still I think we need a picture for proper identification.

well the only thing i can think of is its a black eyed self as as nubbly says we dont get german or scottish fellows here so my theroy is out :D lol

but i thought as much ;)

so birds do moult out darker than when they young sometimes twice their shade if not more by time they adult

do you have rec pied and clearflight pied ( which is basically a domanant pie with out the banding )

as thats all u need to breed black eyed selfs

i know you dont colany breed but nor do i and i just got two in one nest from pet types blackeyed selfs

dad was a clearflighted spangle cinnamon

mum a rec pied hen so

and i always just thought dad was spangle as thats what everyone told me when i said he was clear flight

turned out i was right when i first got him 3 years ago

now he was always just with the wrong bird to get anything other than norm/ino and cinnamon hens

;) yah if this bird isnt a black eyed self i do have these pied types you mentioned gb i havent bred any of them yet i will now B) they are all over 12 months maybe 14 months

with the colony breeding im not against it at all but i chose the other way more fun for me all i meant by that is i know something else dint jump on and help themselves :D sometimes wouldnt be a bad idear probably make better choices than me ha

can a spangle be split for these varietys they happen to be show stock lines i was using a few in breeding boxes im not a show breeder bout the time she would of been born i was contrating on my crests and dominate pieds so if the crests didnt show least i had pied birds to look at ect
