Posted July 8, 200915 yr Two days ago we awoke to find all the birds chirping and playing, along with them in the fun was our littlest one "Baby", as i started to clean up the house a little i vacuumed and while putting the vacuum away , i looked over at the birds just to say "Hi"!..... And poor little baby was on his back at the bottom of cage ,seizing..his whole little body was stiff and twitching . i reached in and picked him up, he let out a few little squeaks and left us!! W e did take him in to see what had happen , the vet had not a clue! He was healthy as can be they said!
July 8, 200915 yr I am very sorry The avian vet should be able to determine cause of death with an autopsy.

July 9, 200915 yr Very sorry to here this. A vet can do a nerospy on your bird, the cost for it is different for each vet, many times they can find out what happened and then other times which is often too it is inconclusive. Keep on eye on your existing flock, check for any fumes that could have come in the house etc... Pretty in my signature passed away suddenly and Merlin ended up being just fine so you just never know why.
