July 16, 200915 yr Author Some great looking chicks there Kaz. Is Dad split to opaline? I dont know Dave.
July 16, 200915 yr Author They do look like opalines dont they >_> Yep and some seem to be showing spangle tailpins.
July 16, 200915 yr Spot on! Opaline AOSV if it is an opaline greywing.AOSV excuse my stupidity but what is that ???? A class in showing................AOSV means any other standard varietyand OAOSV is opaline any other standard varietycool thanks now i wony look so silly at the club when they say all the hifan words i will know what two mean Here are couple more for you GBASC - Any Standard ColourNSV/NSC - Non-Standard Variety/Non-Standard Colourcool but i will never remember lol Kaz is the hen opaline? Is she really a dilute or is she just a cinnamon opaline spangle ? I am wondering, as she was sold to me as a dilute and spangle. Her father was a grey spangle/dilute.I guess I am second guessing here............upon looking again she has the tail she should have if dilute and the spangle inheritance is just confusing things.PS the chick hatched yesterday didnt make it.she looks opaline diluted grey green to me kaz but i not sure with colour but i got a dilute boy spangle markings are alot finer and clearer normally so....
July 17, 200915 yr Yeah, hate to say it but I think you have a cin op grey green spangle hen masquerading as a dilute!!! I would have pitched dilute body colour as lighter than what the hen shows........ If chicks spangle then you know but cinnamon is a bit unexpected even if hen is cinnamon as cinnamon x greywing should give you all normal/cinnamon/greywing cocks & all normal/greywing hens - if I got that right? My guess is you've got normal grey green spangle babies there - unless cock bird is split for something unexpected.

July 19, 200915 yr very cute, but what are we thinking? Middle 2 tail feathers are different? Does that mean spangle? Opaline?
July 19, 200915 yr Author very cute, but what are we thinking? Middle 2 tail feathers are different? Does that mean spangle? Opaline? Yep.........I am thinking cinnamon opaline spangles.
July 19, 200915 yr Author Did we miss diagnose the mutation of the parents? Mother is a combination bird it seems........and she is also spangle.
July 19, 200915 yr A combination bird, i like that. Sounds like a type of bird you buy from the local chinese pet shop. Two goldfish and a combination bird to go please - What a terriboe stereotype i went with. Just on this, a mate of mine form a chinese background wanted to open a pet shop and a cafe in one. We talked him out of it, as that very same stereotype would work against him. He opened the pet shop, but not the cafe
July 20, 200915 yr Author Eldest two are spangles as seen by tailpins. Third chick has darker central tailpins. Edited July 20, 200915 yr by KAZ
July 20, 200915 yr Cinnamon winged spangles? Grey green cinnamon winged spangles? Wow, what a mouthful. You should give birds with long complicated mutations really plain names, like Fred and Tom, or Jan and Jean - :party0011: Imagine if they were at a budgie party. Another budgie flies up to them and says "Hi, aren't you a grey green cinnamon winged spangle?" "yes, names fred" Seems appropriate to me
July 22, 200915 yr Author Three youngest do not have spangle tailpins. The tail pin feathers are darker, not clear as you would expect for spangles.
July 22, 200915 yr so you are looking at two grey green cinnamon spangles and 3 grey green cinnamon wings?
