Posted July 7, 200915 yr I have a greywing to dilute pairing. Hen is a first time Mum. They have 8 fertile eggs. So far four babies hatched. Four to go. Parents...... this morning three chicks but another hatched tonight at dinner time. Edited July 20, 200915 yr by KAZ
July 7, 200915 yr Author If you pair a greywing cock to a dilute hen or a normal hen split for dilute, you can produce greywings in the first generation, and this is because greywing is dominant to dilute. If a Greywing is paired to a Dilute all the chicks will be Greywings but split for Dilutes. Edited July 7, 200915 yr by KAZ

July 7, 200915 yr Author The hen normally looks better than that too, but as a first time Mum she doesnt like being off her nest for long.....so she wasnt relaxed.
July 8, 200915 yr Author okay she look small that all i got one grey-wing hen and she is small to My hen isnt small ...she just looks like she is up against the cock
July 8, 200915 yr Thats a very nice greywing cock kaz. Is he greywing/greywing or greywing/dilute? For a first time mum, 8 fertile eggs is a champion effort. Very nice reflection on your breeding set up i say

Very nice reflection on your breeding set up i say I dont think he is greywing split dilute but as the breeder of him passed away I have no details. July 8, 200915 yr Author I have a greywing cock cracking onto an opaline spangle right now but my thoughts are spangle isnt the right pairing ? Edited July 8, 200915 yr by KAZ
July 8, 200915 yr Now to think about all the grewying/diltue greywing/clearwing FBC greywing combo breeding expectations lol. Just kidding! You will easily tell with these chicks if he is greywing/greywing or greywing/dilute. Either you'll have all greywing chicks split dilute or 50% greywing/dilute 50%dilutes. Looking forward to seeing them feather up!
July 8, 200915 yr I have a greywing cock cracking onto an opaline spangle right now but my thoughts are spangle isnt the right pairing ? Normal/Greywing to Normal will give 50% Splits and 50% normals but you won't know which is which until you test pair them.. Not good. Some times think of your dominants as normals. Such as Spangles, Dominant Pieds and Yellowfaces. Look at them as a normal and you should go okay. Edited July 9, 200915 yr by KAZ
