Posted July 7, 200915 yr Hi all, Hoping someone can tell me what mutation this cock bird is?? I've had him for about 4-5 weeks now & he was bought from a pet shop. He has very fine/faint grey?? markings on his wings & head (almost invisible)!! Hopefully my pictures will work okay (first attempt)?? Thanks in advance Fingers crossed the pics worked??
July 7, 200915 yr this is only a guess and im most probbly wrong but looks like a clearwing to me spangled could be very lightly marked full body grey wing only its tail does note denote that shure its not very pale cinnamon ? Edited July 7, 200915 yr by GenericBlue
July 7, 200915 yr Well it LOOKS like a clearwing - an incredibly clear clearwing at that. BUT the cheek patch (violet & white not just plain violet) and the white on his rump tells me it's also spangle as GB has said - very very very attractive budgie that. I've always wondered how clear a clearwing spangle would end up being. It's not a cinnamon as it's feet are blue and not pink.
July 7, 200915 yr Author Thanks for the information, much appreciated!! This fellow has had me seriously stumped for weeks now !!
July 8, 200915 yr He is a clearwing spangle. The frosting on his rump is very common in spangles and when clearwing is combined with spangle sometimes the markings are so faint that the frosting it the only visible sign of the spangle mutation
