Posted July 2, 200915 yr Hi all, Here are pics of my darlings, Strawberry (albino with some spinach stains XD) and Snowy (white recessive pied). They are both still quite young. Can you guys please help? Thanks so much Edited July 2, 200915 yr by KAZ
July 2, 200915 yr Author Thanks guys So the second one's a girl. I'm really unsure about the first one. Strawberry is albino, and I think the methods of sexing albinos are slightly different? When we first got him/her, the cere was pink without any white. However, in the past few weeks, whitish/pale rings have appeared on the cere. Strawberry is less aggressive than Snowy, but quite active. I'm hoping Strawberry is a boy, because I want to have little white baby budgies! But if it's a girl, we'll love it just as much anyway
July 3, 200915 yr As in Recessive Pieds, the Ino's cere in males will stay a deep pink, if you used a flash on the first one it could be affecting the cere color, we do have in the FAQ Different Types of Ceres along with Sexing your Budgie. I would say female also unless the cere is an even pink .
July 3, 200915 yr I would say 2 girls but like above, the flash could be affecting the colours. And sorry to ask if it's a dumb question but a white recessive pied?....... do you mean white with blue patches??? Only going by the photo above which yes, is only the head, I can't see any rec pied bar head markings on the bird at all.

I'm really clueless when classifying budgie species I've researched it a bit more and Snowy is actually a Dark Eyed Clear Thanks so much guys for your input! I'm pretty sure that they're both girls now, thanks to all your help Edited July 3, 200915 yr by KAZ
July 3, 200915 yr Indeed, second picture is 100% hen, as for the top picture, either the flash has caused the white, and if not then its also a hen, so i would say both are hen's,
