Posted July 1, 200916 yr okay Guys, These 2 came out of quarantine 1 week or so ago, I'm going to see if I'm right with thier colours. The below is SKIPPER. Female blue spangle????? And Sparkey...... Male....Normal blue???? How did I go??? Edited July 1, 200916 yr by anne101
July 1, 200916 yr Yup, the female is a Cobalt Spangle and the male is probably a Cobalt Violet normal. Hard to tell what shade of blue they are in pics, so yes you are correct.
July 3, 200916 yr i agree, the second one is looks like a normal violet, and the hen, well ill take a punt as to say its a sky blue spangle.
July 3, 200916 yr Author Thanks heaps everyone ......my goodness... looking at that picture again I think I need to send Skipper to Weight Watchers!!!!
July 4, 200916 yr Second one is a gorgeous colour. Looks like a normal violet cobalt, possibly double factor violet. The spangle hen is kinda tricky. First picture looks cobalt, second picture looks violet sky blue lol.
July 4, 200916 yr Author Thanks All.... Man.......... I need to do some more work on colours!!! I was saying to hubby I wanted a violet....not realizing......I've already got one....... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
July 4, 200916 yr Okay from what i can see with the hen, is she has spangle marking's on her wing and she looks to me like a sky blue cobalt.....so my guess is she is a sky blue cobalt spangle. (i may be wrong) the male, to me looks like a ordinary violet, although like SJW said it could be violet sky...
July 4, 200916 yr Author Thanks all..... It's a shame that Sparkey too young for this breeding season - he has paired up with Droopy LooLoo....wonder what that would give me..... I think Droopy is a DEC as I'm pretty sure she has no iris ring....as yet.. Can't wait to see what I get out of these two next year....
July 4, 200916 yr Okay from what i can see with the hen, is she has spangle marking's on her wing and she looks to me like a sky blue cobalt.....so my guess is she is a sky blue cobalt spangle. (i may be wrong) There is skyblue and there is cobalt. There is no skyblue cobalt.
July 4, 200916 yr that's what i meant kaz, i know their's no skyblue-cobalt ....but both of which are in the bird... as well as the spangle marking's on the wing's.
