Lou Lou The Corella

Yesterday I picked up a 4 year old corella called Lou Lou, his family could not look after him anymore and he had been banashed to the laundry. At the moment he is scared and doing the agressive scared attitude but I think he will calm down soon enough at the moment he is scared.

He has also been on an all pellet diet to introdcing him to the joys of veggies and dried fruit and he found sunflower seeds and fell in love!

He is really pretty and really loud it was so sad listening to him cry last night as he was so confused as to where he and what is going on.

Awww, poor baby. I'm sure he will come around with your care and love. I look forward to seeing some pictures when he is ready.

Oh, the poor darling.

He should be a super addition to your family. He should soon associate you with yummy things and lots of company. That will help him. All the best. Good on you.

I am not keeping him, he is come through the shelter so trying to find him a new home. He would suit a male owner who has some time to put into him or an avairy but i will try and find a indoor home for him before I look intot he avairy option

Is he not much into females (female owners?)

I saw a fantastic boy while I was in PErth and for the first time in a very very long time I really fell for a bird... he seemed to get distressed when I left though so may have some separation issues there and I dont think Im prepared for that at the moment. Havent stopped thinking of him though.... quite unusual for me :D

Good luck with your boy, hope he comes round and you find a lovely owner for him. Its quite sad how many people will take on a cockatoo/corella and not realise just how much they need regarding the social and emotional side of things

He has settled well, Pip came around last night and well cuddles and scratches and "oh no don't leave me" happened. His vocab is amazing, he was screaming away and I stuck my head in the door and said "Do you mind" and his reply "Sorry" he says hello, what ya doing, tells the dogs off and can sing. He is also trying to pick up new words by the day! I am really hoping to place him in a male family as he was raised by a male and bonded with him. His owner went back to singapore and left him with a female family member who locked him in the laundry so I can see why he thinks we are all evil B***hes!

Poor little Lou Lou, he sounds like a real sweety and would flourish with the right owner.
