The Other Feathered Friend's I Have

Featured Replies

Posted

Here are my other 2 "Terror's" that i have inside as pet bird's, The Galah is a male(Barney)

and the rainbow lorikeet is a male(Jack)

they both hate each other and jack is super protective of me, if someone comes near me while hes on my shoulder he will fly to them and try to attack them :P ...dont know why. as for the galah, he's very friendly, just not towards other bird's unfortunately.

you will find rainbows to be just like a child

the are jealous of anything and anyone that may come near you

they are very intelligent

and cockys behave in a simulure way

he looks at you as his mate

and i could be wrong but unless jack is like only 6 months old or you have papers verifiying his sex i belive him to be a female

i say this as the yellow on the sides of his chest and his cere is not deep colour head is more egle shaped rather than rounded

i know they say that they can only be dna feather tested est est but this is untrue also a female will still act like a male when it thinks your is mate

i am not an expert however did breed rainbows for a while

Oh...i hope it's not a female :P ill have to find someone in the newcastle area who does DNA testing.

Cute bubs! :emoticon112:

Yes, I've found Rainbows tend to bond with one person and give rather nasty bites to others.
