Posted June 18, 200916 yr Over the past week the local hawk has been paying particular attention to our budgies No casualties but he is certainly persistent. Yesterday I took a broom and shewed him off @#%#@! Today my hubby proudly told me he had "taken care of the hawk". My mind raced with possibilities ... "Did you kill him?" I asked with bated breath. "No, I gave him a piece of meat. He was hungry! Now he won't come back." he replied. Yeah, right. So now we can add HAWK to our ever expanding menagerie.
June 18, 200916 yr oh dear.. I shouldn't laugh... but it's kind of cute that he thought one piece of meat would solve the hawk problem forever!
September 9, 200915 yr Author When I first put this post up I was highly sceptical and believed my darling hubby to be rather naive .... However, the Hawk in question no longer frequents our aviaries! He hung about for a few more days and then vanished. I don't think hawks fly south for the winter .... He might have decided that he wasn't going to be able to eat our fat budgies and given up .... OR Tony's plan may have actually worked! Amazing.
September 9, 200915 yr I reckon Tony changed the Hawks menu. The hawk is probably hanging around a herd of juicy looking cows about now
