An Update On Lumina

Well Lumina and George raised another clutch I didnt particularly want to breed her again untill later because she only had a clutch of 4 chicks but seven eggs last October. But I dicied to let because she started laying eggs on the floor and mating with George her mate and she built a proper nest.

After leting her breed again she laid eight eggs all fertile. I was very, very nervous I wasjust like wooh she is not going to cope. Then the chick were being plucked by father George causing them to bleed. So George had to be seperated leaving Lumina on her own. She did great though. I also didnt come on the forums that often because this time I was a little more hands on, Lumina needed help on some of the feeding. Then I lost a chick at two days old, that was my first chick death so I was a little depressed. But in the end she raised six beautifull chicks. 5 males and one female (why did I complain about having to many females?)

Well here she is....

Iv'e never seen her so happy in my life she chirps to herself and flirts with me and bobs her head(she's always been quite manish...I thought she was a boy after I got her) And she a bit scruffy because her mate George plucked her too and I think she's starting a moult.
