Posted May 31, 200916 yr ...what about Sesame seeds? ....are they safe to feed Budgies?...have searched but haven't found a yes or a no...thanks
June 2, 200916 yr I've given mine tiny amounts (they were stuck to bread) and I've seen it as part of budgie mixes and recipes so I assume so. However, I believe they are very high in fat (they feel oily and we get sesame oil from it) so I would only give it as a treat.
May 8, 201114 yr I dont know the answer to this, but does anyone else ? I got this info from the master breeder uk website Kaz. The oil seeds include rape, flax, niger, poppy, sunflower, hemp, sesame, and peanut. These seeds in addition to supplying energy they provide essential fatty acids, namely, linoleic, linolenic and arachidonic.
May 8, 201114 yr yes they're safe Sesame seeds are a good choice as they are high in vitamin A If you go here and scroll down under the 2 Boxes of safe/toxic lists there is a section of Safe Seeds from Garden plants they're also listed there http://www.cockatielcottage.net/houseplants.html
