Cannot Stand The Silence Anymore.

Most of you know that l lost my budgies last week very suddenly. l know that it has been only a week but l could not stand the silence anymore. So l cleaned my budgies cage, perches, toys and food cups again to make sure they are sterilized. And today l went out in search for a budgie. l went to 3 stores and l did not find a budgie that l felt a connection to. l was about to call it a day, but then l decided to go to a small local petstore that is run by a family. Who takes very good care of all of there animals in the store.

l went to the back of the store to their bird room. At first l did not see any budgies that l felt anything but then l noticed this one budgie that stood out. l totally fell in love with it and knew that it was the one. And he came home with me :)

l'm not really sure if it is a boy or girl, at first l thought it was a boy but now l'm secound guessing myself. The budgie is a sky blue or cobalt yellowface spangle. l know you guys want pictures but l did not want to stress out the budgie, so they will have to wait till tomorrow. My sister named my budgie Tequila :)

Big step Birdluv, life goes on :) I recently had a VERY big loss to me also, my partner and i went outside to find both my lorikeets dead the night after a storm :) i was in shock and cried for soo long! But in the name of moving on we're going to hand rear some scaley breasted lorikeets :) Although kiki and Lala were our favourite birds and they were a huge shock to have lost i just miss them so much i want a lori around to talk etc!

I think you're doing the right thing and can't wait to see the new one! xxx

That's great that you found a bird you felt a connection with not just any Budgie just to replace which I think alot of people do and regret. I know that I want to get another Lut after losing Flame but I am just not ready yet, good on you for being really and for finding the perfect little fella or misses

In situations such as this, everyone is different. Some people take longer then others. Me... I find getting another one helps me deal with my loss. I hope this helps you as it has me in the past, and I look forward to seeing your new friend.

I hope s/he is a very loving, comforting birdie for you. Of course you could not stand the silence. It would have been too awful.

I totally understand the thinking behind getting the new budgie and how it helps you deal with the loss and emptiness. Sounds like a lovely choice, and kudos to you for choosing so carefully :)
