Posted May 28, 200915 yr How you all doing, I was reading a few post and couldn’t find anything on some questions I have on feeding veggies- 1. Do you all boil your veggies first? Like for instance, I am thinking of feeding Jokey some broccoli and was wondering if I should boil them a little first? Or should I soak them in water for a little time first? Please keep in mind that these are veggies from the super marker and not fresh. I am guessing the once from the super marker have some chemicals sprayed on them to keep bugs away right? 2. Corn- Do you boil them first or just raw? 3. Apples- do you cut them up in small little pieces? What would you think is the best way? I was concerned about all those preservatives and stuff the spray on the fruits and veggies. Thanks Edited May 28, 200915 yr by KAZ
May 28, 200915 yr You dont need to cook any veggies for the birds. cooking actually removes some of the goodness so raw is always best. with fruits and veggies from the supermarket, just make sure that any aging parts are cut off and the vegetable is washed well in cold water. Remove seeds from apples as they are toxic. there is no other special preparation required
May 28, 200915 yr I agree with what is written above - 100%. (Wanting to join the group that is all about bringing back the 100% limit!!! You cannot give 110%. 100% is the maximum. Always was , always will be)

Do you have to express it in decimals if you are not allowed to say per cent? Or, are you allowed to say 110% as a little bit of hyperbole, in the same way you say I ate a whole half of the pie?
May 28, 200915 yr The only thing I would recommend is to cut the veggie up a bit my guys seem to eat the apples and broc better if they are cut up. Or grate broc stalks they love them done like that
May 28, 200915 yr Author okay, great- thanks for the tips. I'll try it tonight...Lets see how Jokey likes the brocs
